The Bermuda Challenge
1995 – The Bermuda Challenge – Virginia to Bermuda
Glacier Bay founder Larry Graf and Troy shields, owners of Troy Marine in Virginia Beach, Va. win Boating Magazine’s Bermuda Challenge in a 260 Glacier Bay center console, posting a record of 728 miles in 36.5 hours.
Hawaii to Midway Island
1998 – The Pacific Challenge – Hawaii to Midway Island
Glacier Bay catamarans set another offshore world record, completing a record-breaking run of 1,328 miles from Hawaii to Midway Island. The trek was made by two Glacier Bay 26-foot models, the 260 and the 2680, in seas as high as 10′ and winds up to 30mph.
The Alaska Challenge
1999 – The Alaska Challenge – Nome to Siberia
During the summer of 1999, a 2680 Glacier Bay Catamaran escorted two, personal watercraft across the Bering Strait from the United States to Russia, claiming the record for the smallest boats to make this dangerous passage.
The Grand Americas Tour
2003 – The Grand Americas Tour – Seattle to Rhode Island
Glacier Bay Catamarans’ new 3470 Express Cruiser completed the 8,400-mile Grand Americas Tour from Seattle to the Baja, by trailer across Mexico, following the Gulf Coast around Florida, and the up the Eastern Seaboard.
