Glacier Bay Wins Top Import at
2007 Australian Marine Awards

Glacier Bay Catamarans 2270 Isle Runner was recently named the winner of the Imported Trailerable Power category at the 2007 Australian Marine Awards hosted by the Australian Marine Industries Federation Limited (AMIF). The Monroe, Washington-based power catamaran manufacturer's 22-footer was selected as the "best of the best" from a field of impressive contenders.

On May 24, 2007, Glacier Bay President Larry Graf accepted the award at the AMIF's annual awards presentation in Queensland, Australia. The Glacier Bay 2270 was selected winner from a field of 10 other well-known boat brands. To receive this prestigious award, the Isle Runner earned a category of excellence overall score that exceeded 95 percent.

"Judging criteria for finalists includes an exhaustive checklist of more than 40 items covering overall impressions, presentation, ergonomics, performance and safety," says AMIF CEO Sherry Donaldson. "Feedback from judges indicated nominations this year represented the best quality in the history of the awards."

Earlier this spring, an independent panel judged the finalists in both Sydney and Queensland. Using a well-defined list, the Glacier Bay was judged best in most every criterion ranging from innovation and value for money to wiring, passenger comfort, angling systems, handling, stability and seaworthiness.

In 2006 Glacier Bay Catamarans' 2270 Isle Runner and 2240 SX Renegade were introduced at Australia's Sanctuary Cove Boat Show by Runaway Bay Marine Sales in Queensland and Mandurah Boating Center near Perth. Other Glacier Bay dealers include Aussie Boat Sales in Victoria and Webbe Marine in New South Wales.

Foreshadowing the Isle Runner's award, Peter Webster of Fisherman & Boat Owner wrote in the May 2006 issue, "In its class, the Glacier Bay 2270 is the softest boat we have ever driven – it's beautifully built and fitted out with breathtaking attention to detail. In a world of penny stocks, this is blue chip material!"

This year Glacier Bay Catamarans also garnered the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award. 

Glacier Bay Catamarans was one of two boat builders recently honored for innovative achievement by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International (BWI) at the 2007 Miami International Boat Show.
